Solar Eclipse

Dear Del Amo Families,

Get ready for an extraordinary event - a solar eclipse is coming! This rare astronomical event is a great opportunity for students to explore science, space, and the wonders of the natural world.

On Monday, April 8, 2024, the moon will perfectly align between the Earth and the sun, casting a shadow upon our planet. The next total solar eclipse visible from the United States won't happen until 2044. The solar eclipse is an exhilarating phenomenon where the moon passes between the Earth and the Sun, partially or completely obscuring the Sun’s light.

Our school will be operating on the regular schedule, and our staff will be discussing the eclipse with the students. It is crucial to remember not to look directly at the sun during the eclipse without protective eye-wear to avoid permanent eye damage. All students that get to school on time on Monday, April 8th will receive a pair of solar eclipse glasses.

Sincerely,

Ms. Z, Principal
